Restore Mass Ave Celebrated at Colombia Ambassadorial Residence

Restore Mass Ave Celebrated at Colombia Ambassadorial Residence

H.E. Francisco Santos, Ambassador of Colombia, hosted a gala reception honoring our work at the famous Ambassadorial Residence on 20nd Street. The Residence is a 1906 mansion designed by architects Bruce Price and Jules Henri de Sibour. The entrance is on 20th Street where Restore Mass Ave has added tree canopy since 2008. It is near our proposed Plaza which will add more trees.

Amb. Santos opened this amazing home to old and new friends of Restore Mass Ave who enjoyed Colombian food, fine wine, and Latin-themed jazz.

Speaking to guests, the Ambassador pointed to the historic photo of trees shading the sidewalk and praised Restore Mass Ave for re-growing this landscape. The photo was taken in 1913 about a block from the Residence.

Guests enjoyed the famous ballroom of the Thomas T. Gaff house.
