We’re Hiring!
Restore Mass Ave is a small, volunteer-run nonprofit whose mission is to restore the historic landscape and tree canopy of Embassy Row, the two miles of Massachusetts Avenue NW from Wisconsin Avenue east to Dupont Circle, Washington’s most famous diplomatic street.
RMA succeeds by being a family of helpers including great volunteers. Many have donated time, knowledge and goodwill to spread a culture of stewardship for this Grand Avenue landscape. Today our work is recognized locally and internationally, so more is being asked of us. We should expand by adding talent. Maybe your talent!
Below are positions we have in mind. To apply use the form below. Or use the form to suggest other ways your talents can help “re-green Embassy Row.”
What You Can Accomplish
Neighbor Ambassador – Volunteer
Use your diplomacy and love for nature to grow shade trees along Embassy Row! We seek volunteers who live or work on or near Mass Ave who want to help this famous street be shadier and more beautiful.
Restore Mass Ave has worked with most of the owners along our two-mile route. But recent turnover of US and foreign owners means we should re-introduce why this Grand Avenue is important and how they can help grow and sustain healthy trees here.
As a Neighbor Ambassador you’ll be our liaison with one or more properties you choose. An example could be the embassy of a country you visited, studied, or come from.
You’ll build friendships around your shared interest in cultivating and protecting trees, including city street trees. Regular RMA personnel will assist and teach. Our prize- winning guidebook A Grand Avenue Revival tells why this landscape matters.
